Building an extendible Earth Engine application using tokens, Earth Engine API calls and a simple frontend. Why building accessibility matters beyond access.
Could you expand on how this is "outside Earth Engine" - what platform then? and what is possible that was not from the App...I feel like I missed the point
This is built purely using html and javascript. It's not outside Earth Engine since it still makes Earth Engine calls it's just making Earth Engine App calls in a non Earth Engine app setting. Which makes it more powerful because you are no longer constrained by the sandbox environment, you can add live data and api calls, you can expand on the visualizations and controls you can have in Earth Engine using reactive charts, exports options to different formats, transformations on the fly sliders. I built this to test more important if we could improve on an Earth Engine application but outside the app environment
My interest is in monitoring apparent land surface temps over quite a small area (south island, New Zealand) as well as any other surface data I can gather that will serve seismic research purposes. Am I in the right shop? What features might I have access to and what is the most recent data I vould access?
